Shaun Wallace was the Chaser tasked with stopping contestants Tanya, John, Siobhan and Slavko from walking home with some cash on Monday’s rerun of The Chase. With Bradley Walsh on hand, as usual, to provide the questions and guide the players through, it didn’t take long for the head to heads to get underway. However, when Siobhan took on the Dark Destroyer, Bradley soon became irked by the Chaser’s eagerness to move on with proceedings.
Slavko was first up against Shaun during the episode and managed to make it back for the Final Chase with £5,000 to add to the prize fund.
Siobhan joined Bradley at the table in the hopes of replicating her fellow The Chase player’s success, but it soon became clear he had a challenge on her hands.
The contestant ended up saying her goodbyes and heading home early, but not before being caught in the middle of a rather tense exchange between Shaun and Bradley.
The Chase host asked the pair: “Which fictional doctor has been played on film by both Jude Law and Ben Kingsley?”
Dr Dolittle, Dr Jekyll and Dr Watson were the three possible answers with Siobhan rightly opting for the final option.
“You know who Dr Watson is, don’t you?” Bradley asked, to which Siobhan replied: “Yeah, Sherlock Holmes.”
As the correct answer was highlighted, Bradley began to explain the story, saying to Siobhan: ‘Jude Law was Dr Watson to whatsisname…”
Bradley began to try and conjure up the Sherlock actor in his head but was interrupted by Shaun who interjected: “Robert Downey Jr.”
“Robert Downey Jr, yeah,” Bradley replied before realising Shaun had slipped up: “That means you know this.”
“No, not necessarily,” Shaun responded as he tried to keep up the act after noticing his error but Bradley didn’t stop there.
“Well, yeah you do,” the Chase host continued. “You’ve given it away now, you’ve ruined it for everyone.”
“Well, you just asked me a question -“ Shaun said as he tried to defend himself but Bradley was having none of it.

“I didn’t ask you a question, I was looking at Siobhan -“ the presenter added as Shaun this time interrupted: “You looked at me!”
A stuttering Bradley stood firm: “I was looking at Siobhan! You’ve ruined it now for everyone, people have gone out to make a cup of tea now, what’s up with you!”
Their head butting didn’t stop there as Shaun sarcastically said: “I might have pressed the wrong button.”
Of course, he hadn’t, and when Bradley asked what happened there, Shaun jokingly shut him down: “I pressed the right button didn’t I?”
Luckily, the pair’s clash was all taken in jest and they managed to put the row behind them and move on with the rest of the show.
In the end, it was only Slavko and Tanya who took on Shaun in the Final Chase with £6,000 up for grabs.
Together, they accumulated 15 steps in the final round, but it was no challenge for Shaun who caught them with 42 seconds to spare, sending them both home empty-handed.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
