Ellie Leach performs the foxtrot to Fairground Attraction
Ellie Leach has opened up on potential plans for a return to Coronation Street.
Ellie has recently swapped the cobbles for the dancefloor as she continues to impress the judges on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The 22-year-old actress left the ITV soap earlier this year after playing Faye Windass for 12 years.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at last week’s Pride of Britain Awards, Ellie was asked if she’d ever be reprising her role as Faye.
“I don’t know, I mean never say never,” she replied.

She continued: “But you know, I think now is a great time for me to see kind of see what else is out there.
“I’ve been at Corrie for 12 years and it’s a long, long time, and I’ve grown up there.
“And I loved every second of that, and I’m really grateful as well to now be doing something that’s completely different and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.”
When asked if her former co-stars have been rooting for her, she added: “Yeah, they are [really proud],” she stated.

“I’ve had some really nice messages from all the people at Corrie and they’re just really wishing me well and it’s been really nice to have their support.”
In last week’s Strictly Come Dancing, Ellie and partner Vito Coppola performed a Viennese Waltz, which the judges were full of praise about.
However, Ellie opened up earlier this week about how much she had “struggled” with the dance.
Describing the routine, she explained on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two: “The spinning of the Viennese waltz really caught me off guard.
“And then spinning in hold and coming out of that and spinning some more… I did actually really struggle.”
Vito quickly applauded her for the performance, adding: “Honestly, she surprises every single week.
“In the rehearsal, she does good, when we try it’s OK, and then the night of the show, something happens.
“And it’s like, ‘This is not the same Ellie I’ve been practicing with all week’.
“And the spin comes and the frame comes and she’s moving and everything is so precise and it’s like, ‘OK Ellie, OK.'”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
