Before Vincent shared his findings gathered in a document, Motsi, 41, told him: "We've always been worried about the men in our family, it's always been traumatic".
When asked what they knew about their grandfather, Oti, 32, said she believed he worked in the mines while Motsi admitted they never met him but knew he passed away at a young age.
Vincent told the siblings: "Your grandfather left from here to go to war – World War II to fight the Nazis".
He then revealed it's likely their grandfather went to war in at attempt to provide and feed his family.
The expert told them: "He was trying to fight for his right and the right of his fellow soldiers. Your grandfather was my hero. The reason I made that document is because of people like your grandfather."
As the duo broke down in tears, Oti said: "One of the missing pieces that we've missed and needed to hear for so long. It's a beautiful thing, we are so grateful. These aren't tears of sadness, these are tears of, 'Oh my god'."
"We're so proud," Motsi chimed in.
"You've got a lot to be proud of and all the good deeds your grandfather has done," the expert replied.
Motsi then read out some of the honours their grandfather received, adding: "We had no idea we had war medals in the family".
Oti continued: "We've tried and everywhere we looked, there's nothing. That's why we have it in our own heads that there's nothing in our family. You've completely flipped that on its head."
Strictly judge Motsi then revealed the pair couldn't wait to share this information with their father, who was likely unaware of his own father's extraordinary past.
She said: "What we take away from this is our grandfather was incredible. And I'm so glad we get to tell our father while he's still alive.
The South African dancers also spoke to another expert who discovered Nelson Mandela is a "genetic relative" of theirs.
