The Batman is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2022, and fans have one more reason to look forward to it. On Oct. 14, The Batman‘s Twitter page released a 6-second teaser video that featured Robert Pattinson’s Batman voice. And let’s just say that the internet may not be ready for Pattinson’s portrayal of the Dark Knight.
‘The Batman’ is coming to theaters in 2022
Warner Bros. initially conceived The Batman as an installment into the DC Extended Universe. And Ben Affleck was going to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne. Affleck had previously starred as Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. The actor was supposed to star in, direct, co-write, and produce the new solo film, but he stepped down as the writer and director. Warner Bros. brought in Matt Reeves to fill those roles, but he wanted the film to focus on a younger Bruce Wayne early in his vigilante career. So, Affleck then left the project entirely.
Warner Bros. cast Robert Pattinson to play the titular hero in The Batman in May 2019. And the studio announced that the film’s ties to the DCEU were completely removed. The premise reads, “In his second year of fighting crime, Batman uncovers corruption in Gotham City that connects to his own family while facing a serial killer known as the Riddler.”
Along with Pattinson, the cast includes Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as Penguin.
New teaser for ‘The Batman’ reveals Robert Pattinson’s Batman voice
Per ET Canada, The Batman‘s Twitter page released a 6-second teaser for the film ahead of the premiere of the full trailer at DC FanDome.
The video shows the Bat-Signal lit up in red as rain pours down. Pattinson, in his Batman voice, says, “It’s not just a signal. It’s a warning.” Then, at the end of the teaser, it suggests viewers watch the new trailer during DC FanDome on Oct. 16.
This isn’t the first time fans have heard Pattinson’s Batman voice, however. At DC FanDome 2020, a teaser trailer for the film showed the Caped Crusader muttering the words, “I’m vengeance.”
Fans are freaking out over Pattinson’s ‘sexy’ voice
We are very confident that the full trailer for The Batman that will be revealed during DC FanDome 2021 will break the internet. Thank you, Robert Pattinson.
Fans all over Twitter are very excited over hearing Pattinson’s low, raspy voice as Batman for a mere 6 seconds. We can only imagine what will happen if he talks like that for more than 10 seconds somewhere in the full trailer.
If you want to watch the full trailer, you can tune in to DC FanDome on Oct. 16 on DCFanDome.com. The virtual event will begin at 1 p.m. EST. The Batman premieres in theaters on March 4, 2022.
