With the third and final series of The Split set to launch in little over a week (Monday 4 April), the BBC have dropped a revealing sneak peek that teases some of the drama in store for fans. This includes new romances, plenty of arguments and a rough ride for protagonist Hannah Stern (Nicola Walker).
The fast-paced trailer shows Hannah crying to mum, Ruth (Deborah Findlay), saying: "He wasn't supposed to fall for someone else."
To which, Ruth replies: "Why can't they ever just stick with meaningless sex?"
From what we can gather, it appears both Nathan and Hannah will turn their romantic attention elsewhere as Christie (Barry Atsma) returns and Nathan lights a spark with newcomer Kate (Sherlock star, Lara Pulver).
The trailer shows that there are prickly encounters a-plenty between Hannah and Nathan in the upcoming season, making it clear that the once rock-solid couple are not doing so well at uncoupling.
Having been together for 20 years, the teaser reveals the chaos that is to come as Hannah and Nathan attempt to split their life together.
Nicola – who also played DCI Cassie Stuart in police drama Unforgotten – can be seen squaring up to Kate, warning her to "tread carefully."
However, it appears Nathan's new love interest isn't phased, proving she's not one to be messed with.
The trailer also includes a spoiler that Hannah and Nathan's children – Liv, Tilly and Vinnie – could get dragged into the crossfire.
Hannah declares: "These are still my kids and, if you really want to nitpick, he's still my husband," during an argument with Nathan and Kate.

But, it's not all gloomy for Hannah as her former extramarital love interest Christie comes back on the scene.
The trailer shows the pair sharing a passionate kiss on a rooftop after Hannah cooly reveals to Nathan that he's back in town.
Although the full picture is still very much a mystery, this tantalising teaser has left us on tenterhooks ahead of the series finale.
