As President Biden embraced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday in a show of solidarity amidst its ongoing war on Hamas, America drew the wrath and fire of pro-Palestine crowds in neighboring Arab countries.
The US Embassy in Beirut has been under siege for nearly 24 hours, with Lebanese troops using tear gas and throwing stones to try to disperse the angry crowd.
In Iraq, US troops intercepted two attempted drone strikes at the al-Asad airbase.
American flags burned in Istanbul, where a furious mob of protesters clashed with riot police, while the US Consulate in Adana, Turkey, closed its doors after a night of angry demonstrations.
The tension also sparked security concerns closer to home – a bomb threat at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires triggered an emergency evacuation.
