A SCHOOLBOY smiled as he appeared in court charged with murdering a grandmother who was allegedly hit by her own car.
Marcia Grant, 60, was struck by the vehicle on her driveway in Sheffield on Wednesday night.
A 12-year-old boy appeared at Sheffield Youth Court today charged with murder and possessing a bladed article.
The teen spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the hearing.
He was flanked by two security officers while in the dock and smiled occasionally.
The boy, who legally cannot be named, was remanded into secure accommodation ahead of a hearing on April 11 at Sheffield Crown Court.

Police were scrambled to the Greenhill area of Sheffield at around 7.10pm on Wednesday.
Tragically Marcia could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene.
Pictures show a silver Honda Accord on the road with a black tarpaulin over the passenger window.
Tributes have now flooded in for Marcia, who was described as a “beautiful soul”.

Her heartbroken family said: “Marcia was a warm, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and a pillar of her community.
"Her loss has already sent shockwaves through all who knew her or was lucky enough to be included in her orbit.
"We ask for privacy at this time while further investigations are underway and the Family try to come to terms with this enormous loss.”
