A Brazilian transsexual influencer and her boyfriend were taken into custody Tuesday after they were accused of allegedly torturing and robbing a businessman she met on a transvestite dating app.
Vitória Guarizo, 25, and her partner Gabriel Meneses allegedly stole more than $8,669 from the victim who was lured to her São Paulo apartment back on May 18.
A police report indicated that on the night of the ambush, Guarizo, who has over 1 million Instagram followers, told the man, whose name has not been released, that she had just arrived from Dubai and that she was ‘sad because her ex had beaten her.’
The victim visited Guarizo’s home in the southern São Paulo neighborhood of Moema and was pummeled by two men, including Meneses, when he walked into Guarizo’s room.

The man was drugged and tortured with hot knives and a blowtorch. He was hit multiple times on the head as he was instructed to hand over passwords to his banking accounts.
The suspects transferred $105 to Guarizo’s account and $4,017 into Meneses account. The other suspect, who has not been arrested, had $4,439 wired into his account. The rest of the money was distributed among several other people.
The businessman eventually fell unconscious and woke up inside his car that was abandoned somewhere in the city.
‘The investigation found that the two arrested in the operation participated in a robbery in May in which they forced a man to ingest psychotropic substances and used torture methods to make him transfer about (40,000 Brazilian reais),’ the São Paulo Public Security Ministry said in a statement.
‘In the property where they were, the police seized cell phones, computers, drugs and various medications used to sedate the victims, in addition to a Jaguar model car.’

Guarizo’s press office issued a statement indicating that her apprehension was only temporary and that the defense team was still looking into the accusations.
‘So far, our client’s arrest is only temporary for 15 days and Vitória is collaborating with the investigations, clarifying the facts, confident that she will prove her innocence,’ the statement said.
‘The process, however, runs in secrecy of Justice and the defense still is taking note of the accusations. Finally, Vitória Guarizo’s defense ensures that all facts will be clarified and certain that the truth will prevail!’
Guarizo’s lawyer, Dr. Larah Rainov, told Brazilian outlet iG that she was scheduled to appear before a judge at a custody hearing Wednesday.
