A British tourist has died in Menorca after falling and hitting his head on a rock as he walked out of the sea.
The man’s wife and son witnessed the tragedy on a beach in the popular coastal village of Es Grau.
A nurse and sailor who happened to be in the area rushed to help and paramedics raced to the scene.
But the holidaymaker, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead on the beach.
He has been described as a 79-year-old man who regularly spent his summers in the area with family.
An autopsy is yet to be made public, but it’s suggested he died from head injuries.
He may have fainted as he came out of the sea, local reports claim.
Police could not be reached early this morning for comment.
