Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams always knew he would play for his childhood team. Adams proved Wednesday he really meant it when he said joining the Raiders was "meant to be."

Adams also supported Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown, who predicted Adams would "demolish my records" on Twitter.

Following his press conference, Adams sent a message to Raiders fans, telling them he "could not be more excited" to be a member of the franchise.
Davante Adams surprisingly dealt to Raiders
Adams was traded to Las Vegas on Thursday in a surprising move. Adams, considered the best receiver in the NFL, spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers. He expressed frustration with Green Bay after the team gave Adams the franchise tag. Adams said he would not play under the tag, hinting that he wanted a long-term extension.
The Packers couldn't make that work. The team shipped Adams to the Raiders for draft picks. Las Vegas was able to give Adams the deal he desired, signing him to a five-year, $141 million contract.
Adams is coming off his second consecutive All-Pro season. He gained 1,553 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in 16 games with the Packers. He managed that despite being double covered at an extreme rate.
