This is the adorable moment an elderly woman grabbed a waiter’s arm affectionately thinking it was her grandson’s.
Carmen Rainone, 21, from Campania, Italy, filmed the moment her grandmother Carmela mistook the waiter for her grandson Mario at her 86th birthday dinner party.
As the waiter lights the candles on Carmela’s cake, leaning over the woman to reach the confectionery, Carmela takes hold of his arm and hugs and kisses it lovingly.

Carmela, who cannot see the waiter as he is stood behind her, continues holding onto his arm, looking confused by her guests’ reaction.
Finally, the real Mario arrives, and Carmela lets go of the waiter and takes hold of her grandson’s arm, who takes up the waiter’s position behind his grandmother.
Carmela looks amused as she realises her mistake, and she gives her grandson’s wrist a kiss while the guests at her party laugh and talk.
The video has amassed nearly one million views.
Carmen, the grandaughter who posted the clip online, said: ‘I never thought I’d go viral just due to my grandmother’s confusion.’
The 21-year-old has since posted more videos of her grandmother on TikTok by popular demand.
