Greek pilot Babis Anagnostopoulos was filmed hugging his mother-in-law at a memorial service for his murdered British wife — just hours before police said he confessed to being her killer.

The 33-year-old widower was filmed by local TV Thursday having a lengthy embrace with Susan Dela Cuesta, the grieving mother of Caroline Crouch, his 20-year-old wife who he claimed had been tortured and murdered in front of their baby by a ruthless gang of home invaders.

Officers were also watching Thursday’s memorial service on the Aegean Sea island of Alonissos — and whisked him away by helicopter for interrogation as soon as it was done, police have said.

Anagnostopoulos then confessed to lying about the burglary and being the killer, Greek police said.

He had been confronted with damning breakthroughs in the case, including heart rate data on Crouch’s smartwatch that showed the young mom had died earlier than her husband claimed, the Greek Reporter said.

He has since been charged with her murder, as well as perjury for repeatedly lying to police — along with crimes of animal abuse for allegedly also killing their dog, which was found outside their home, according to Greek news site Amna.

Crouch had been found dead on May 11 in the attic of the couple’s home in Glyka Nera, a semi-rural suburb northeast of the capital, Athens.

Anagnostopoulos repeatedly acted as the grieving husband, even weeping as he spoke to reporters claiming he’d been tied up and unable to save his wife.

“He was a top-class actor,” one cop told The Sun.

“One of the last things he did on Alonissos was to hug Caroline’s mother and tell her he was going to Athens to identify a suspect,” the source said.
