Slack users in the United States reported that Slack was not working for them on September 17.
According to the website Downdetector, at least 51 percent of complainers are experiencing issues with the app.
Another 33 percent are struggling to send messages, while 16 complained about their server connection.
A live outage map showed that the issues predominantly occurred on the East Coast – namely the cities of Boston and New York.
Statistics show that the outages began to happen around 7pm.

What did people say about the Slack outage?
Users took to the DownDetector comments to air their complaints about the platform.
"My signal is very weak. Only two bars downstairs and extender at the top of the stairs and another one downstairs," one user commented.
"Not getting notifications on Slack channels for PC or android. All settings and and preferences are set to recieve notifications for all messages. I am getting notifications in DM's. Problem since yesterday," another said.
"Can not log into slack," a user wrote, while another confirmed "omg slack is not working."
On the east coast of the United States, where the most outages were reported, a user blamed service provider Verizon for the interruption.
"There's a Verizon Fios issue on the East Coast. Verizon says a fiber was cut in Brooklyn…not sure if that's what's affecting all of us. But Slack (calls only), Zoom, Gmail have been problematic for me."
