Jonathan Majors called 911 before he was arrested for assault and harassment after his girlfriend suffered a mental health issue, his lawyer claims.

The actor’s girlfriend, whose name has not been disclosed, used physical force against Majors during the Saturday morning incident, according to the messages.

In the texts she calls herself the aggressor and says she hopes that the Creed III actor will not get prosecuted.

Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry told DailyMail.com in a statement that Majors ‘completely denies assaulting the woman,’  and that he called 911 ‘out of concern for the woman’s mental health.’

‘The police arrived with the paramedics, as is standard procedure, and arrested Mr. Majors due to an NYPD protocol requiring arrest in certain circumstances,’ she said. ‘On that same day, only 7 and 9 hours later, the woman sent text messages to Mr. Majors admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him.

‘She also disavowed any allegations that he had done anything to her and confirmed that Mr. Majors called 911 because of her mental condition. These are those messages, redacting the woman’s name for her privacy.’

The texts that were sent from Majors’ girlfriend to the Creed III actor Jonathan Majors on Saturday after the alleged incident

Before the news broke of the alleged assault Majors had sent a text to his girlfriend Saturday morning around 8:58am asking, ‘Did you get the text?’

She did not respond to his text until 6pm – nearly 9 hours later – and  by that time Majors had already been arrested in New York on assault charges for allegedly beating his girlfriend inside a vehicle.

The girlfriend wrote, ‘please let me know when you got this. They assured me that you won’t be charged.

‘They said they had to arrest you as protocol when they saw the injuries on me and they knew we had a fight.’

‘I’m so angry that they did. And I’m sorry you’re in this position. Will make sure nothing happens about this.’

‘I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone…’I only just got out of hospital… just call me when you are out.’

The actor did not respond.

A few hours later, around 9:30pm she sent another text message to Majors, telling him that she spoke to officials again.

In the text, she wrote, in part, ‘reiterated how this was not an attack and they do knot have my blessing on any charges being placed.’

Majors is at the height of his career. The Marvel actor recently appeared in Creed III and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantomania. He was also involved in an ambitious new recruitment campaign with the United States Army that was released in March.

After news broke of Majors’ alleged wrongdoing, the army temporarily pulled the plug on the campaign, issuing a statement that they were ‘deeply concerned by the allegations,’ and his recent arrest.

The statement continued that while Majors ‘is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.’

Majors hired attorney Priya Chaudhry to defend him.

The criminal trial lawyer defended Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah on charges of wire fraud, which Shah pled guilty to in February.

Chaudhry vehemently denied the charges against Majors, who maintains his innocence.

[Majors is] ‘completely innocent and is probably the victim of an alteration with a woman he knows,’ she said.

A spokesperson with the Manhattan DA’s office told DailyMail.com on Thursday afternoon that ‘we have an active and ongoing investigation.’
