A sex-pest Tory PM is facing a six-week ban from Parliament for breaching sexual misconduct rules by ‘pestering’ an intern half his age to ‘fool around’.
Delyn MP Rob Roberts, 41, faces a suspension for making ‘repeated and unwanted sexual advances’ towards the 21-year-old after an independent panel ruled against him.
Mr Roberts made lewd comments in a series of messages in April last year.
He appealed the standards watchdog’s findings, offering to apologise but denying he had breached sexual misconduct rules.
In the report, published today, he argued his behaviour had not been ‘sexual’ but was instead ‘romantic’.
But an Independent Expert Panel today found him guilty and recommended he serve a six-week suspension.
Sir Stephen Irwin, Chair of the IEP has said: ‘The misconduct demonstrated here was significant.

The move will increase the pressure on Boris Johnson to take action against Mr Roberts, who was only elected at the last election in 2019.
‘It is evident that Mr Roberts MP was in a very powerful position as an employer in relation to the reporter. Our conclusion is that the determination of six weeks suspension from the service of the House was proper and proportionate.’

The Conservatives last month said he will not be kicked out of the party but will have to undergo training for his ‘unacceptable’ conduct.
