Former Love Island contestant Adam Collard has credited the popular ITV2 dating competition as his “saving grace”, claiming it has stopped him cheating in later life.
The 27 year old television personality gained fame when he entered the scene as a bombshell on the fourth season of Love Island at the age of 22. His appearance on the show was marred by controversy, as he was widely accused of engaging in “gaslighting” behaviour. Following his tumultuous stint in the villa, he entered a relationship with Zara McDermott, which ultimately ended after eight months.
In 2022, Adam returned to Love Island for a second time, coupling up with Paige Thorne; however, their relationship fizzled out after a mere two months. Currently, rumours suggest that he is growing close to Lottie Moss, an OnlyFans model and co-star on Celebs Go Dating.
Opening up to MailOnline, Adam shared: "Call me old-fashioned, but I genuinely believe there's someone out there whom I'll meet and feel like saying, 'Yeah, I'm done.'
“I won't lie, I have had it before but I was too young. I will hopefully get it again where I'm with someone and really want to be with them all the time and can be completely best friends. Unfortunately I haven't found that just yet.”
Reflecting on his journey, he candidly owned up to making his fair share of mistakes, however believes he’s managed his life more responsibly than many people his age. Adam also attributed Love Island with playing a pivotal role in shaping his path.
He shared: "I was very nearly settled, wifed up and married off in the countryside at a very young age.
“I went full circle and went on Love Island, and I think it was a saving grace because I think if I hadn't have done that, I would have messed around later in life. But now when I'm ready to settle, I will be ready to settle.”
Adam recently sparked dating rumours with Lottie Moss after they were spotted holding hands on a night out in London. The pair headed out for a meal at the trendy Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in Marylebone before staying the night at a nearby hotel.
Ahead of the series launch, Adam told the Daily Mail that he had “a lot of fun” filming the show. However, the star was mum about whether he had found lasting love with one of the non-celebs lining up to take him out.
“It’s a lot more lighthearted and less serious,” he revealed, before adding that he thinks viewers will find his experiences on the show “really, really funny.”
Among the participants on the show are Vanessa Feltz, Chloe Burrows from Love Island, comedian Spuddz, and Mark-Francis Vandelli from Made In Chelsea. The celebrities will receive guidance from dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson.
