Adam Rickitt’s presenter wife Katy Rickitt is best known for her news reports on Good Morning Britain, however, today she starts a new job. The TV star will front ITV Calendar’s news for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire for the next six months.

On her first official day in the studio, Katy took to social media to share a video message with fans after being inundated with messages of support ahead of her big day.

“The day has arrived!” she captioned the footage, which she shared with her 19,000 Twitter followers.

The indecisive star went on to boast that she had successfully picked out her outfit for her debut already.

“Actually made a decision for the first time in my life! Off to go and get prepped on the news of the day!!” She added.

In the clip, the short-haired star spoke directly to the camera from her dressing room.

“Just before I get started, I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of your lovely messages over the weekend.

“It’s my first day on Calendar so I’m really looking forward to it,” Katy continued.

“I did say I was going to post some dress options but I lied, because basically I kind of knew what I wanted to wear and for me that’s actually a miracle because I never make my mind up about anything.

Showing her dress of choice, she continued: “So we are going to be in royal blue today and the yellow one in the back there is for tomorrow.

“I’m officially moved in. Lots of dresses filling up the wardrobe already. I’m very excited.

“So wish me luck and I’ll see you all at 6pm on Calendar,” the presenter signed off.

Many took to the comment section of her post to wish her well.

A third chipped in: “Good luck Katy. We’re in Glasgow so won’t see your new show. Missing you on @GMB already…”

On July 23, the ITV star announced that she would be leaving Good Morning Britain after almost ten years on the show.

Katy said she would miss the team but not the early morning wake-up calls.

The presenter’s GMB colleague Susanna Reid said the appointment was “fantastic news” while weather presenter Laura Tobin said she would be “brilliant.”

Her husband Adam, who found fame playing Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street, said he was “so proud” of his wife.

“Through good times and bad you will be to the people of your birthplace what you are to me..an inspiration, a support, a confidant…and something to look forward to seeing every day!”

In an additional update, the excited presenter said she would share a link so that fans who do not live in the area could watch her in action.
