Amy Dowden had been watching Tom’s IG Live along with thousands of other fans while the Harrow native discussed all things Strictly before he realised his dancing partner was also tuned in.
Tom didn’t hesitate to get Amy on camera after sending her an invite through the app, but the latter seemed horrified when she realised she wasn’t looking her usual self on camera.
Amy appeared to have treated herself to a self-care pampering session, with a mask covering her face while her hair was wrapped in a white towel.
The 31-year-old gasped in shock as she placed one hand over her mouth, realising that over 3,000 fans were watching the IG Live blunder.
Clearly amused by the gaffe, however, Tom later decided to post a screenshot of the hilarious moment on his Instagram page.
He captioned the photo, writing: “When your @bbcstrictly dance partner tunes into your insta-live and doesn’t expect you to invite them in”.
Fans and celebrity friends were quick to react in the comment section.
AJ Odudu, who is also competing in the latest series of Strictly, commented with a bunch of laughing emojis while Sara Davies wrote: “Omg I bloody love this!!!”
One fan, marve1ousdesign, had chimed in, adding: “Don’t worry Amy. There’s only 3,000 people watching”.
Another expressed how Tom’s undeniable chemistry with Amy is so entertaining that the two would be perfect at fronting their own show after Strictly.
“Oh please find some other show for when this is over cause the two of you are hilarious together,” the Instagram user Weing.rs wrote.
Simes2112 commented:” You are going to regret this in the training room tomorrow Tom”.
Earlier this month, the Love Is Easy singer presented Amy with the sweetest surprise while appearing on It Takes Two — her very own BAFTA.
Shortly after discussing their Paso Doble routine, which they were set to perform in the coming days, Tom caught Amy by surprise when he handed her the prestigious award.
Janette Manrara started by saying: “A couple of weeks ago we revealed that you won a Welsh BAFTA and I think we have got something very special that Tom wants to give you today”.
Tom proceeded by grabbing the BAFTA from behind the sofa before handing it over to Amy.
“Because you were busy teaching me how to dance, you couldn’t pick up your award,” he said.

Amy was honoured with the prestigious award for her documentary Strictly Amy: Crohn’s & Me, a chronic illness that she has battled for years.
She later took to her social media, where she shared a video update after the award was announced.
“Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, you have no idea what this means to me,” the brunette said.
Meanwhile, the remaining contestants on Strictly are taking on Musicals Week over the weekend, with Tom and Amy expected to perform On My Own from Les Misérables.
