Strictly: Zara McDermott is eliminated from the show
After being voted out of Strictly Come Dancing, Zara McDermott has spilled some behind-the-scenes secrets from the show, including the reveal that two Strictly WhatsApp groups exist. The 26-year-old BBC star appeared on the Saving Grace podcast and said: “We have a lovely WhatsApp group actually – we have an official WhatsApp group with the producers in and then we have an unofficial one with just [us] in.
“So anyone can be like, ‘Anyone else’s feet really f***ing hurt today?’ People were saying things like that.” The presenter admitted she thought she would see her fellow celebrities more during the course of the competition, but they only really saw one another for Saturday’s live show as well as on Fridays.
She continued: “I thought you would see each other all the time, everyday. But you actually only really see each of them a little bit on a Friday and then obviously on a Saturday when you’re getting ready for the show.”
Speaking more about the group chat, Zara divulged: “We do have our group, which is lovely. We’re all still in it together – even the people that have left. We’re sending messages of support.”
Zara and her dance partner Graziano Di Prima were voted off by the public after landing in the bottom two for the third time, during Halloween week.

She faced off against Adam Thomas and his partner Luba Mushtuk, with all four judges opting to save Adam over Zara. The duo had scored 25 points out of 40 for their Charleston to Jeepers Creepers by Al Donahue and his Orchestra, leading to them being at the bottom of the leaderboard.
As they departed the series, the former Love Island star broke down in tears and had to be comforted by her dance partner as they took to the floor for one final dance. Only four couples remain in the competition to win the coveted glitterball trophy, Layton Williams, Annabel Croft, Ellie Leach and Bobby Brazier.
There was no dance-off last weekend due to Nigel Harman and Katya Jones having to exit the show after the actor broke a rib in a rehearsal gone wrong.
The Sunday night results show still went ahead, with producers instead opting for more group performances and chats with the judges and contestants.
