Bruce Springsteen is reportedly ‘fragile’ following his peptic ulcer disease diagnosis and canceled shows after the encouragement of his loved one.
The 73-year-old Boss and the E Street Band have been forced to postpone all eight tour dates in September in order to help him properly recover.
His loved ones, particularly his wife Patti Scialfa, are believed to have encouraged him to rest up and look after himself to stop things getting worse in the long run.
A source told DailyMail: “Bruce hates not being able to do what he loves. Although an ulcer doesn’t sound serious, it can be and can require surgery.”
According to the insider, his loved ones fear that if he pushes himself it could cause further trouble.

They added: “Bruce isn’t dying which is the best-case scenario, he isn’t hiding from any other lingering problems, the ulcers that he has are just kicking his ass and making it very uncomfortable to perform the way that he and his fans expect.”
The band took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 6, to confirm they would not be going forward with the planned dates.
They wrote: “Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago. We’ll be back to pick these shows up and then some.
“Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ve been having a blast at our US shows and we’re looking forward to more great times.
“We’ll be back soon. Love and God bless all, Bruce.”

The cancelation comes amid a string of health issues for the star that have caused shows to be postponed.
Among them, he has had several bouts of Covid, the most recent of which resulted in two shows in August being canceled.
In May, he fell on stage after climbing stairs while performing in Amsterdam, prompting his team to help him get back on his feet.
He’s also been open about his battle with depression, stating in his book Born To Run that his mental health often left him fearing he would ‘turn out more like his father than he thought he might’.
According to some sources, he hasn’t been the same since undergoing throat surgery in 2013.
In order to repair damaged discs in his neck, the singer required a surgical procedure in which doctors had to cut open his vocal cords.
Thankfully it was a success, and he has since been able to get back on the road.
