Chanelle Hayes exudes body confidence in bikini on beach after 9st weight loss

Chanelle Hayes oozed body confidence as she enjoyed the sun on a holiday to Spain.

The former Big Brother star, 34, spent some time on the beach in Majorca after undergoing weight loss surgery and losing nine stone.

Posing on the beach in a white and orange striped bikini, Chanelle walked along the sand barefoot and gazed out at the sea while looking confident in her new figure.

The star opted for a make-up free look and had her hair tied back in a bun. She also had a pair of sunglasses perched on her head and appeared to be wearing a fitness tracker on her wrist.

Chanelle chose to undergo gastric sleeve surgery in August 2020 and described the operation as a “last resort”.

In a post to fans about her surgery, she told her followers: "I know some people see #bariatricsurgery as cheating… but it’s not an easy road, and one that was difficult for me to decide to walk down.

"I want to share my experience on here because #foodaddiction is real and, whether people choose bariatrics or not, the way this addiction is viewed by society as a whole is as though it’s ‘just an excuse to be greedy’. It's not," she said.

Chanelle continued to open up on the emotional impact of her struggle as she went on: "It’s hard to love yourself when you’re disgusted at yourself. It’s not easy to find the courage to change unhealthy behaviours when they’re your way of self-comforting.

"I’ve chosen blue for these pictures to convey that, even if you do change your life, blue days still happen and even though physical health can be improved, working on our #mentalhealth is a constant battle."

She then urged her followers: "Let’s not belittle some people’s addictions just because they don’t fit what an addiction should look like in other people’s minds. Everyone’s struggles are valid."

It comes after the star opened up to fans about her experience with M.E, which is also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.

M.E is long-term condition with a wide range of symptoms. The most common symptom is extreme tiredness, according to the NHS.

Chanelle has revealed the condition leaves her in agony. She compared the pain to childbirth and said she feels like her "bones are going to explode".

The star's chronic illness went undiagnosed for some time and she suffered with fatigue and joint and muscular pain for years beforehand.

Chanelle has even been left bed-bound for days after drinking one glass of wine or doing a workout.

She revealed: "I always put my symptoms down to being so obese".

She added to The Sun: "I thought 'I'm overweight, it's my own fault, no wonder I'm tired all of the time and no wonder my joints are killing me.'

"Then as I started to lose weight I felt like the pain was getting worse and worse.

"It's a hidden disability that people scoff at thinking you're just being lazy.

"But there are days I've slept for 14 hours and when I wake up in the morning I still haven't got enough energy to brush my teeth or do my hair.

"It's literally awful and so frustrating. I've found myself crying because I get so mad at how tired I get."
