While most people would dread the idea of their partner’s job taking them miles away from home, a source has revealed that Christine Lampard couldn’t be more thrilled about hubby Frank’s new job, even though it’s based in Liverpool.
It was announced last week that the former England footballer has been appointed as the new manager of Everton football club. Even though it’ll mean him spending lots of time away from the London home he shares with TV presenter Christine, 43, and their children, his wife is delighted for him.
Frank, also 43, was left devastated last year when he was sacked as head coach at Chelsea FC after just 18 months, and a source has revealed that this new job couldn’t have come at a better time for the couple.
They said: “Christine is really thrilled about it because it makes Frank happy. He’s been busy with other work, but he was really keen to get back into a manager role. Christine knows it’s his passion and his dream, and it’s what he’s good at, so she’s delighted.”
It may have only been announced last week, but according to our source, this new gig has actually been in the pipeline for a while.
They told us, “The deal Frank has signed has been going on for some time – and it’s perfect for him. So it’s great news that it’s been finalised. He was really gutted about Chelsea, so this is great.”
And while Christine, who is mum to Patricia, three, and 11-month-old Freddie, as well as step-mum to Luna, 16, and Isla, 14 – Frank’s daughters from his relationship with Elen Rivas – loves her TV career, our source told us that Frank and the children are her priority.
“Christine puts the family first,” they said. “Frank and the kids come before her and her career. She will carry on working as she loves being on the Loose Women panel and presenting. That won’t stop. But her family are definitely her first priority. The TV [career] is just the icing on the cake.”
Given that her man’s new job will inevitably be very demanding, it’s fortunate that Christine is so willing to make sacrifices.
Our source said: “This will be a very hands-on role for Frank so he’ll have to put a lot of time and effort into it. But Christine knows that and she’s happy for him. She wanted this to happen more than anyone.”
