Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are "not part of the community" in their new area of Montecito, California, according to some of their neighbours.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly rarely seen in public and instead keep to the grounds of their lavish £11million mansion estate – and it is said to have been that way ever since they moved north of Hollywood in 2020.
The Royal couple, who share children Archie, two, and baby Lilibet, 11 months, keep themselves to themselves or are allegedly shuffled out of their home in blacked-out cars.
The couple live among some of Santa Monica's most famous celebrities, in an area dubbed the "Cotswolds of California".
During a recent interview, the 37 year old Duke gushed that the locals had welcomed him and the Duchess into their beach town "with welcome arms".
What's more, the Royal declared the area as having a "great community" while speaking with NBC in between sports events at the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
However, journalist and columnist Richard Mineards, who regularly writes for the Montecito Journal, has claimed the Duke and Duchess have mostly been a "no-show" in the main town.
Richard also claimed the Royal couple "haven't become part of the community" after all, and moved into their beautiful new property with zero announcement to the neighbourhood in July 2020.
"I think a lot of people are bristling about that really," the British writer told The Times.
"It’s such a lovely place to go out and they’ve been a no-show.
"There is this big question of, ‘Where are they?’" Richard added, amid other claims that Harry hasn't yet made an appearance in Santa Barbara's UK-themed bar Old Kings Road either.
OK! has contacted representatives for the Sussexes.
Despite that, it has been said that Prince Harry recently joined the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club.

Having enjoyed the sport in the past, it could be a sign the Royal is set to get more involved in the community and may even be more regularly pictured enjoying some downtime from his charity work and commitments.
According to The Mirror, the Duke is expected to be playing with Argentinian polo star and Ralph Lauren model Ignacio 'Nacho' Figueras once the season begins in May.
While questions may remain over how settled Harry and Meghan have actually become in California, one epxert has insisted they're doing seriously well Stateside.
According to new reports, the famous pair are fast on their way to becoming the "toast" of Hollywood and the town's newest power couple.
