Announcing the arrival of his and Abi’s little one, the star revealed they have welcomed a baby boy and shared the first sweet picture.

The 36-year-old exclusively told OK!: “Myself and Abi are both thrilled to share the safe arrival of our beautiful baby boy, born on Wednesday 9th June at 12:14pm.

“Both Abi and our little man are doing great and we can’t wait for you all to meet him!”

The pair also shared the first photo of their bundle of joy, a cute black and white snap of their hands holding their little boy’s.

David and Abi announced they were expecting their first child back in January.

Telling fans the happy news, David took to Instagram to share a stunning shot which showed Abi's shadow.

In the shadow, Abi could be seen holding her arms up in the air to show off her blossoming baby bump.

David wrote alongside the image: “Some good came out of 2020….”

The star was flooded with congratulations from his celebrity pals and Hollyoaks co-stars.

Former Hollyoaks actor Jake Quickenden wrote: “Congrats bro we got this.”

Rachel Adedeji, who played Lisa Loveday on the soap before quitting last year, said: “Awwwwww congratulations to you and your mama to be David. Such a wonderful blessing!”

David first joined Hollyoaks in 2016 playing PSCO Rocco.

He then returned to the Channel 4 soap as Sylver McQueen and has been a regular face since 2018.

Ahead of welcoming their first child, David and Abi, who is a beauty therapist, took part in a pregnancy photo shoot to document their journey to parenthood.

In the shots, a shirtless David could be seen cradling Abi’s bump, with Abi looking glowing and sporting a white shirt and black and white Calvin Klein underwear.

And after David shared the snaps on his Instagram, even more of his co-stars were quick to share their excitement at their impending arrival.
