Mike Thompson is revealed to have never shown up at the former NBA star’s rehab facility in Kansas although he was reported to have already been scheduled for treatment.
AceShowbiz –Honey Boo Boo‘s father has gone missing ahead of his scheduled rehab treatment. Although he had allegedly been set to begin his recovery at one of Lamar Odom‘s rehab centers in early July, Sugar Bear, whose real name is Mike Thompson, was revealed to have never shown up.
Sources claiming to be close to Lamar told TMZ that Mike has “gone MIA.” The sources went on to reveal that the 51-year-old was initially set to fly to Kansas on Thursday night. He, however, never showed up at the facility as expected.
Mike, per the sources, has since gone silent and has not shared any information with Lamar’s Odom Recovery Group. He was said to have initially informed Lamar’s group that he could not make it to the treatment center on the scheduled date because he had work to do.
The sources then claimed that Mike later told the group that he was taken into a hospital due to another health issue which caused him unable to kick start his journey to recovery. On how Lamar and his rehab center group took Mike’s absence, the sources noted that they thought that he “simply got cold feet.”
According to the sources, Lamar’s rehab center group has been doing their best to get “in touch” with Mike. They also hope that Mike will “change his mind” and begin his recovery at one of Lamar’s rehabilitation facilities as soon as he needs help.
News of Mike going missing came one day after he was unraveled to have been scheduled to start his recovery at one of Lamar’s rehab centers in Kansas. On July 6, TMZ reported that Mike will begin his treatment at the Gold Bridge Treatment Center in Louisburg, which is associated with the Odom Recovery Group, in the evening of July 6.
Mike was reported to suffer from drug addiction after he began taking prescription medicines as part of his diabetic therapy. Aside from that, he was said to be dealing with severe depression and anxiety. That was why he turned to Lamar, whom he met in the summer of 2022 through their managers, for help.
