James Jordan rushed to doctors on return from holiday after falling ill with infection

Strictly Come Dancing former dancer James Jordan has been diagnosed with shingles after falling ill on his recent holiday to Abu Dhabi.

The reality star, 43, was on holiday with his dancer wife Ola Jordan, 39, and their two year old daughter Ella when he fell ill.

James rushed to the doctors on their return home earlier this week to discover he was suffering with shingles.

The former Dancing on Ice winner took to his Twitter to share an update with fans.

He wrote: “Home from an amazing family holiday – straight to docs and it’s been confirmed I do actually have shingles like most of you suggested.

“It’s pretty uncomfortable not going to lie but hopefully will start to get better soon…. Many of you been asking how it is (praying hands emoji)

“Thanks guys (red heart emoji)”

Fans rushed to the post to share their well wishes for James.

One wrote: “James ..i caught shingles last August….wouldnt wish it on anyone……its left its mark, all these months later,i still dont feel like the old me…..Im tired, lost enthusiasm for doing anything, and been told it can last for ages, although the rash goes, and the pain improves x”

Another shared: “My mum had shingles last year. It lasted about 3 weeks and was painful, but I would bathe the affected area with calamine lotion to stop the itchiness. Abit of advice, Wear loose clothing and stock up on calamine lotion. It helps. Get well soon. X”

While a third penned: “Shingles can be painful sadly James. Take care of yourself and hope you start to feel better very very soon. I am sure Ella will keep your mind of it.”

Despite his diagnosis James took time to pay tribute to the late Tom Parker who died at the age of 33 earlier this week following a two year brain cancer battle.

James has personal experience of what Tom’s family are going through as his father Allan tragically passed away from a brain tumour in March 2021.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, dancer James posted a picture of Tom as he paid tribute.

The professional dancer penned: "Just heard that Tom Parker passed away the same wicked disease that took my father.

"My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a very special man that I had the honour of meeting several times. Rest In Peace brother."

James added: "My dad will be there waiting for you with a beer," with a heart emoji.
