Jamie Laing shares adorable clip of his loved ones reacting to engagement news

Jamie Laing has shared a sweet video documenting how all their family and friends reacted to his engagement news.

Jamie, 33, and fellow Made In Chelsea star Sophie Habboo, 28,announced the news of their engagementon social media on Saturday 18 December.

Following their announcement, the pair have been inundated with congratulatory messages, including by their nearest and dearest.

To show how happy some of their friends and family were, Jamie shared a video of them FaceTiming several people and revealing their exciting news.

The video features the likes of Melissa Tattam, Sophie’s mum Sarah Wigley, and Jamie’s younger sister, Emily.


As well as the video, Jamie shared a string of photographs of the aftermath of their engagement where Sophie could be seen wearing her new “Mrs Laing-to-be” cap.

The confectionary mogul captioned the adorable post: “I’ve never been so full to the brim with love, I can’t compare this feeling to anything else!! What’s even more special is surprising and sharing this moment with your loved ones.

“We managed to capture only a few family members and friends reactions but it really says it all. I wish we could have caught more but the bloody filming thing didn’t work!! Lastly, thank you for all the lovely messages I honestly could be happier!! I can’t wait till @habboosophie realises I’m punching way above my weight”.

Detailing where he popped the question, Jamie explained on his Instagram story that he did it at the Rosewood London hotel where he and Sophie had their first date.

Sharing a snap of their hotel room, white rose petals could be seen scattered all over the floor, while some roses remained in tact in vases to the side of the hallway.

There were also several tea lights dotted around, in addition to a string of envelopes with cards inside.

Jamie later shared a photograph of a teary-eyed Sohpie wearing her cap as she read through his heartfelt, handwritten notes.

He captioned the snap; “Reading my letters I wrote her…. Happy tears I think”.

Jamie and Sophie’s relationship first started in 2019, and was documented on E4’s Made In Chelsea.

Fans of the show will know the start of their romance was far from smooth, but they’ve since gone from strength to strength.

While they were once both regulars on the reality show, both appear to have taken a step back in recent seasons with Jamie having not featured at all, while Sophie has appeared in less episodes than previously.
