Kate Middleton is a vision in red as she met with the First Lady of the United States to visit a primary school in Cornwall.

The 39 year old united with Dr Jill Biden, 70, as they attended a primary school in Cornwall at the start of the G7 summit.

Duchess of Cambridge Kate and President Joe Biden's wife paid a visit to Connor Downs Academy near Camborne where they met reception year children, aged between four and five.

The pair also spoke to UK education experts as they participated in a round table discussion, headed up by Prince William's wife.

They discussed female empowerment, children and early years' development during the conversation.

Upon entry to the classroom, Jill joked: "They're scared to death," as the children stared silently at the women.

Kate added: "It's the quietest class I've ever been to," before asking the youngsters their ages.

Jill and Kate sat next to each other as they conversed with different groups of children, who were reading the storybook Greta and the Giants, inspired by Greta Thunberg.

The First Lady also helped the children build with Lego bricks and watched the draw during their visit to the school.

Jill is the second First Lady Kate has met as she held audiences with Michelle Obama and her former President husband Barack in 2011 and again in 2016.

Following the assembly, Kate will join her husband Prince William, The Queen, Prince William and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on Friday evening to attend a G7 leaders reception at the Eden Project.

The Bidens met Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his new wife Carrie on Thursday, enjoying a walk along the beach with their one year old son.

They will travel to Windsor Castle over the weekend and enjoy tea with The Queen on Sunday at the end of the summit.

Jill said: "Joe and I are both looking forward to meeting the Queen.

"That's an exciting part of the visit for us. We've looked forward to this for weeks and now it's finally here. It's a beautiful beginning."
