First Lady Jill Biden and the Duchess of Cambridge are teaming up.
Today, Kate and Dr. Biden met up in Cornwall, England, to visit a school and chat with teachers and students. For the high-profile meeting, the duchess wore a bold magenta belted midi dress by Alexander McQueen, paired with nude pumps and delicate hoop earrings. Also opting for the rosy shade, the First Lady wore a hot-pink blazer by L’Agence layered over an A-line white dress from Akris and slingbacks by Valentino. Kate wore her hair in a prim blowout with a side part, while Dr. Biden wore hers styled in her signature layered cut.
The meeting between the two is a fitting match, considering the duchess has dedicated much of her royal career to highlighting the importance of early childhood education and Dr. Biden has spent decades as an educator herself. Following the pair’s school visit, they participated in a roundtable, where they discussed the importance of prioritizing early childhood education.
Their Cornwall engagement comes ahead of tonight’s G-7 Summit reception that Kate and other royals—including Prince William, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, and the queen herself—are expected to attend, according to The Washington Post. Hosted by the Prince of Wales, the event will bring together leaders of the G-7 countries (the United States, Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan) at the Eden Project, an attraction housing large biomes, to emphasize the environmental focus of this year’s gathering.
