Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales reacted to her husband Prince William and his brother Prince Harry coming together in a show of unity following their grandmother, the Queen's death on Thursday 8 September.
Surprised and elated crowds saw the two princes and their wives, Kate and Meghan Markle, put aside their differences and come together for the first time in two years as they arrived outside Windsor Castle on Saturday 10 September to greet crowds and look at floral tributes to the late monarch who died "peacefully" at the age of 96.
It was the first time the brothers have been seen together since the unveiling of a statue of their late mother Princess Diana in July 2021.
Of the reuniting of the two couples, The Telegraph reports that Kate, 40, is said to have told a family in the crowd: "At times like this you’ve got to come together."
Prince William, 40, is said to have extended the olive branch to his brother by inviting the Sussexes to join him and Kate on the afternoon walkabout at Windsor Castle, with the four of them even leaving together in a car driven by Prince William.
William and Harry, 37, and their wives made a big impression on the waiting crowds, with Meghan, 41, even stopping to hug one member of the public, and Kate sharing a sweet anecdote about her youngest son, Louis' reaction to the death of the Queen.
She revealed that upon learning of the passing of his great grandmother, the four year old told Kate: "Louis said at least Grannie is with great grandpa now."
There have been tensions for a number of years between the Wales' and the Sussexes, following Harry and Meghan's departure from The Firm as senior royals in 2020, with them now living in Montecito, California.
Before the royal walkabout, Prince William shared a heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
The Prince of Wales took to his official Instagram account to share his "sadness" and praise his "Grannie", branding her "an extraordinary leader".
Today, Prince Harry paid tribute to his “Granny” who he described as having an "infectious smile".
He also took the opportunity to share his gratitude at the moments she met his “darling wife” Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
He wrote: "The first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren."
