It has been revealed that Kerry Katona does not own the sprawling £2 million mansion she is currently living in, despite revealing she had started a “new chapter” when she moved in.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 40, has been showing off her glorious Cheshire mansion to her loyal legion of fans online, and despite many thinking she had purchased the four-bedroom house back in May, the sale unfortunately fell through at the last minute and has forced her and her family to find another home.

Representatives of the TV personality confirmed the unfortunate news on Tuesday.

While the mum-of-five starts house hunting again, she has decided to continue to rent the mansion in Alderly Edge after she signed a six-month contract.

A spokesperson for Kerry, who previously admitted she felt "overwhelmed" as she moved in to her Cheshire home, told the MailOnline: “The house Kerry bought has fallen through due to issues with the chain.

“So, because of this she is renting the property for six months whilst looking for a new home up north.”

The stunning four-bedroom mansion boasts a cinema and games room as well as a double garage and a beautiful en-suite bathroom and dressing room.

While the star looks for her next dream home, she will be set back £9,500 each month to continue to live in her Cheshire hotspot.

It was only earlier this month that Kerry, who recently opened up after she gained a stone and a half, was seen crying happy tears as she documented her journey to collect her keys.

To mark the special occasion, the noughties singer gave fans an exclusive look inside the new home she thought she had purchased with her fiancé Ryan Mahone, 32, more than 13 years after she was made bankrupt.

Kerry first announced the news that she was moving house on Instagram in May as she embarked on a “new chapter” in her life after losing everything.

The TV star from Warrington wrote: “Good morning you beautiful people!!! Well it’s official!! After losing EVERYTHING 13 years ago and having to rent I’ve finally bought me a house!!

“I want to share this news because many times over the years I literally felt suicidal! BUT I never gave up! If I can turn things around and get back on top ANYONE can.

“I’m not gonna lie Credit where credit due I’m really proud of myself. DONT EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!!!!!!!”

“Doesn’t matter if others don’t believe in you just as long as you believe in yourself! Thank you @ryanmahony-7 for always having faith in me even when I didn’t. I love you," she added.

The sober star has previously revealed she started taking drugs at the age of 14 and openly spoke about her bipolar disorder and addictions issues in the past.

Kerry continued: “Even 6 years ago I never thought I'd be where I am today! It's been bloody hard. Drugs, bankruptcy, bipolar, mental health, anxiety, divoecees, breakdowns, car crash, TVs WOW I honestly never thought I'd get through it all! But here I am.

“Tell yourself every day you love yourself, tell yourself every day your worth it and never ever let other people’s opinions define you as a person!

“Learn from it all, move on and help others. Oh and yes … I'm moving back up north.”
