‘I have had sexual experiences with women’: Lisa Snowdon, 51, says sex with girls is ‘more intense and giving’ as she reveals she has ‘experimented’
Lisa Snowdon has revealed she has had ‘sexual experiences with women’ and admitted they can be ‘more intense and giving.’
Opening up about her relationship history in her new book, she said she had ‘experimented a little’ in the past but was ‘deeply attracted to the opposite sex.’
The TV presenter, 51, who has been engaged to entrepreneur George Smart since 2016, once famously dated George Clooney for five years and footballer Jay Bothroyd as well as David Walliams.
In quotes obtained by The Sun, she explained: ‘I was, of course, deeply attracted to the opposite sex, and sometimes to the same sex, and I would be lying if I said I hadn’t experimented a little — that was fun and I certainly have no regrets.
‘A friend told me that a lot of women in the menopause who are attracted to women are acting on it, as they feel they no longer need men. And I kind of understand it.’

She continued: ‘Sleeping with women can be a much more sensual, more gentle, more intense and more giving experience.’
While she has been happily engaged to her current partner since 2016, Lisa has enjoyed a string of high profile relationships.
Lisa dated Hollywood actor George for five years after they met on the of a Martini advert in 2000.
She has since spoke about their relationship, labelling it as ‘wild’, but vowed to keep their sex life secret.
Speaking to The Sun last year, Lisa recalled: ‘George was charming, a really nice man, good fun and we had a great time. It was quite wild.’
She added: ‘Sometimes I think it will be written on my tombstone — “George Clooney once dated Lisa Snowdon.”‘
Her new book aims to help other women, especially those who are going through menopause, she spoke out on the stigma of talking about the menopause and taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) as treatment recently.
In an interview with Women’s Health UK, the TV and radio presenter reflected on how she managed her symptoms after she went into perimenopause aged 44.

She told how HRT ‘really helped’ her and why she is supporting a campaign to make it more accessible.
Lisa told the magazine: ‘I’m part of the Menopause Mandate campaign calling for HRT to be free on the NHS in England, like it is in Scotland and Wales.
‘Since I went into perimenopause at 44, HRT has really helped me, but there’s still some stigma around taking it – much like talking about the menopause in general.’
The Department of Health announced last month that from April 1, women in England prescribed HRT as part of menopause treatment will be able to access a new scheme to enable access to a year’s worth of treatment for just under £20.
