Loose Women star Denise Welch, 64, has opened up about the alleged treatment of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by members of the Royal Family and the press. Speaking on her podcast, Juicy Crack, earlier this month, the broadcaster confessed that she thinks Prince Harry wants to “right some wrongs and… wants to let people know that they were bullied out of the Royal Family”.

The comments come after the couple have received a great deal of media attention following the release of Prince Harry’s book, Spare, earlier this month.

The couple were also in the spotlight in December last year, after they released a three-part Netflix Docuseries.

Welch, who has been a vocal supporter of both Harry and Meghan since the couple left the Royal Family in 2020, divulged how she thinks Prince Harry is feeling.

“We are hearing from a very hurt 11 or 12-year-old boy, who has never been heard [sic] about his mother’s death.

“He has been forced into a series of behaviours that were expected of him and he has bottled it all up.”

In the impassioned monologue, she went on to claim: “I think that the Royal Family were in no way going to allow Harry and Meghan to shine above William and Kate, or Charles, because let’s be honest… he’s never going to be The Queen.

Explaining her reasoning a bit further, she acknowledged: “He’s never going to have that reverence and that complete love that Her Majesty had.”

The Loose Women panellist then continued to sympathise with Harry and Meghan, while addressing King Charles leaving his marriage to Diana for Camilla, Queen Consort: “Harry is hurting. His father betrayed his wife, with another woman… Harry never completely believed everything that happened in the Paris tunnel.

“I don’t think he still does… but I think he’s never been able to really find the answers he was looking for.”

Harry’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, tragically died in a car accident in Paris in August 1997, aged 36, which sent shockwaves across the world.

Welch disclosed that she’ll always be “in their camp”, in reference to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, while voicing concerns over how the press has allegedly “protected Prince William”, according to Harry.

“There are many, many things about Prince William – some of which I have heard from the journalists’ mouths themselves…that they know things and are not allowed to run it [sic].

“So, that says to me, William is protected, where Harry and Meghan are not.

“That’s where I stand, and that’s my view on it.”

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on any accusations made by Harry and Meghan in their Netflix series and in the former’s memoir, Spare.

Although the much-loved broadcaster is known for sticking up for the couple, she admitted that she is tired of discussing the pair on Loose Women.

“Am I sick of talking about it on Loose Women? Yes. One of the reasons being, it’s the old dead cat on the table!

“Everyone looks to the dead cat on the table, whilst what’s really happening is going on stage left.

“The government is getting away with God knows what [sic].

“People have lined their pockets during Covid to millions and trillions of pounds and yet us, the taxpayer, is going to be paying for these investigations.

“I’m f***ing furious about it – and that, to me, is what we should be talking about.”
