The pop-punk rocker, whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith, previously admitted that he felt broken after the ‘When You’re Gone’ hitmaker called off their engagement.
AceShowbiz –Mod Sun couldn’t be more grateful to have support from people around him following his split from Avril Lavigne. In a new social media post, the “Flames” rocker thanked his “real friends” for being there for him.
On Monday, March 6, the 35-year-old wrote on Twitter, “I’m so grateful to have real friends who will sit on the phone with me for 2 hours.” He then told his fans, “If you got those people in your life, do not let them go.”
Mod previously admitted that he felt broken after Avril called off their engagement. Taking to Instagram, he penned, “In 1 week my entire life completely changed. I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.”
He signed off the line with a broken heart emoji before adding, “Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”
While Mod is currently single, Avril has moved on with Tyga. The new couple appeared to confirm their relationship with a kiss in Paris. They were spotted locking lips at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer Party during Paris Fashion Week on Monday.
The pair were clearly not shy to show their affection for each other as they were photographed holding hands while walking into the swanky bash. The 38-year-old singer and the 33-year-old rapper also posed for photographs together.
Avril and Tyga first sparked dating rumors after they were caught sharing a hug following a dinner date at NOBU in Los Angeles in February. A rep for Mod Sun later confirmed that he had called it quits with Avril.
