Mrs Brown’s Boys star Fiona O’Carroll has confirmed her split from her co-star husband, Martin Delany. The actress, 41, who is the daughter of Brendan O’Carroll, has played Maria Brown in the BBC comedy since it started in 2011, while Martin plays Brendan’s TV son-in-law, Trevor.

In a statement, Fiona explained how her and her husband of 15 years had “grown apart”.
She said: “Myself and Martin met very young.
“I was 16, and I suppose he’s all I’ve ever known and we just kind of grew apart.
“We wanted different things,” she added.
The star went on to add that she believes the feeling to be mutual before explaining that they were no longer “on the same page”.
Fiona went on: “I still have a lot of love for him and I only want the best for him and I think he feels the same way about me.
“There were no major fights, and nobody else was involved but it was a case of not being on the same page any longer,” she told RTE Guide.
Fiona and Martin married in 2006 and share four sons, Felix, Isaac, Eli and Dexter.
The couple appeared on All Star Mr and Mrs when they were still together.
Martin is reportedly now living in Portugal but still co-parents when he returns to Ireland.
Fiona explained that she tried to “hang on” to her marriage for as long as she could following her parents’ divorce.
Brendan and his first wife Doreen Dowdall were married for 22 years, having tied the knot in 1977.
Brendan and Doreen later went their separate ways in 1999 with Brendan having since spoken candidly of their split.
The Mrs Brown’s Boys star said: “I would rather it [the break up] had happened earlier, that I had been more honest. I was also very arrogant.
“I thought, ‘Well, I can’t leave because if I do she will fall apart,’ which was terribly selfish and arrogant of me.”
Brendan is currently happily married to his second wife Jennifer Gibney, who he appears alongside on Mrs Brown’s Boys.
In the sitcom, Fiona plays the wife of Dermot, played by Paddy Houlihan, with the pair getting hitched after she grew close to him.
She was originally engaged to Trevor (Martin Delany) but things didn’t work out between the pair.
Brendan’s sister Eilish O’Carroll also stars on the show as Winnie McGoogan.
His grandson Bono Brown appears as Jamie O’Carroll in the BBC show.
