Piers Morgan has received a hilarious Father’s Day card from his eldest son Spencer which poked fun at his father’s iconic Good Morning Britain exit in March.

While the family enjoyed his younger brother Stanley’s 24th birthday meal at a posh London tapas restaurant, Spencer, 28, took the opportunity to gift Piers, 56, his early Father’s Day card.

The opinionated journalist, who recently turned down Ant and Dec's invitation to take part in I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here, was given a witty card which pictured a cartoon version of him walking out of the studio dressed in a suit and tie.

The card read: “Happy Father’s Day. Thanks for never walking out on me.”

The hilarious card made reference to his now famous storm out after the Britain’s Got Talent judge refused to apologise for his controversial comments over Meghan Markle’s explosive interview regarding the royal family.

Luckily his father, who recently slammed Love Island protocols and called them 'dimwits', found the joke card hilarious as he reposted the snap on his Instagram stories and wrote atop the picture: “Thanks son,” with a cry laughing emoji.

Proud of his choice of cards, his son documented the night with a picture next to his dad with his Father’s Day gift in hand which he shared to his 39,000 followers on Instagram.

He captioned the post: “Little pre Father’s Day meal. I’ve completely smashed the card to be fair.”

Spencer went on to share a snap of his brother with his birthday card which read: “There’s no one I’d rather sit in silence & star at my phone with,” while Stanley held back a laugh.

Piers is father to four children; his three sons Spencer, Stanley and Albert, who he shares with his ex-wife Marion Shallow, and his ten year old daughter Elise who he shares with his wife Celia Walden, 46.

As the night continued, Spencer shared a video of five star food which the family were treated to as the owner of the restaurant played Happy Birthday on the guitar which the whole restaurant sang along to.

His father can be seen proudly filming the memorable moment as all the staff came out to sing for Stanley’s birthday as he was presented with a mouth-watering chocolate birthday cake.

After the celebratory meal, Piers shared a sweet snap with his two sons to mark Stanley’s 24th birthday after their lovely meal at Cambio de Tercio.

He captioned the post: “Fabulous 24th birthday bash for No2 @stanley.morgan at the world’s greatest restaurant @cambiodeterciagroup. Thanks Abel and your wonderful staff. The place was on fire tonight.”
