Prince Charles has opened up about his last conversation with his father Prince Philip on the eve of his death.
In an interview for the new BBC documentary about the Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales reveals the last conversation he had with his father on the eve of his death and shares how he had his witty sense of rumour right till the end.
Robert Hardman of The Mail wrote and co-produced the programme and offered the nugget from the programme to The Mail.
In the snippet from the documentary, Prince Charles, who with his wife Camilla relocated recently for the Queen as she spent her first summer without Prince Philip, is said to recall how he phoned Prince Philip the day before he died.

The chat was about the Duke’s 100th birthday celebrations, and he received a response showing his father’s wit was very much still in tact.
In the conversation on April 8th Charles is said to describe how he delicately broached the subject of a party to mark the centenary in June.
He recalled: “We’re talking about your birthday” carefully mentioned as he knew his father wouldn’t be too keen on a party.
He revealed in the documentary of being aware the Duke was slightly hard of hearing, so he repeated himself louder saying: “We're talking about your birthday! And whether there's going to be reception!”
The Prince of Wales goes on to share his father’s witty response: “Well, I’ve got to be alive for it, haven’t I?”
Prince Charles responded with: “I knew you’d say that!”
The programme is a tribute to Prince Philip who died at the age of 99 on April 9 this year and features Philip’s four children and adult grandchildren sharing their fondest and funniest memories of the popular Royal.
In a trailer for the documentary, Prince William says: “He’s always been a huge presence in everything we’ve done really.”
William’s brother Prince Harry, joins the rest of his family in the tribute to his grandfather from his home in California.
Harry describes Prince Philip as always “unapologetically him”.
He said: “What you see is what you got with my grandfather. He was unapologetically him.”
Prince Charles also features in the trailer saying: “We were lucky to have him for nearly 100 years.”
The new BBC One programme, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, is set to be broadcast on Wednesday night.
