Princess Charlotte Can't Contain Her Emotions at the Commonwealth Games

Twitter’s latest royal obsession has arrived in the form of Princess Charlotte and her extremely candid facial expressions.

The seven-year-old princess appeared today at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, joining dad Prince William and mom Kate. While there were plenty of picture-perfect photos of the young royal smiling dutifully alongside her parents, there also emerged a slew of snaps that show her acting like, well, a normal child. (Ah, royals, they’re just like us.)

In the photos, Charlotte ranges from exuding uncontainable excitement over the games to downright contempt for the affair.

“Princess Charlotte is giving her brother Louis a run for his money with these expressions today,” one Twitter user wrote, likely referring to Charlotte’s four-year-old brother’s behavior during the Platinum Jubilee. In particular, while he and his family joined Queen Elizabeth II on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, Louis was visibly irate with the loud noises being emitted from the Royal Air Force’s special flypast.

“The highs and lows of live sport…as told by Princess Charlotte,” another Twitter user wrote, captioning a series of photos that illustrated Charlotte’s expressive moods.

Charlotte recently joined William for a surprise cameo in a sweet video shared ahead of the Women’s Euro 2022 final match between England and Germany.

“We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck tonight, you’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way!” William says, before Charlotte adds, “Good luck! I hope you win. Bye!”
