Robbie Williams was shocked after he beat “1 in 174,000,000 odds” when choosing the same fan at his concert. The Angels singer is currently performing for huge crowds on his XXV European tour with support from his new band.
The 49-year-old took to Instagram and revealed he had chosen one lucky fan to join him on stage.
But to his surprise the former Take That singer picked out the exact same person from the audience at a gig in 2003.
In view of his 2.5 million followers, the hitmaker shared two photos alongside the fan.
The first snap was taken on Thursday as Robbie laid his head on the man’s shoulder and they both smiled at the camera.
The second photo, which was taken in 2003, showed the two of them about to take a bow on stage.
Robbie penned: “So this happened two nights ago in Budapest – I chose someone from the audience to come down to the front and, amazingly, I chose the same guy that I picked out from the audience in Budapest 20 years ago!
“The odds of that happening? 174,240,000 to 1.”
He added: “Nice to see you again, sir. Love from Rob.”
Social media users flocked to comment on the post as they gushed over their reunion.
Jess quipped: “He’s the one,” while Ruth joked: “Maybe you should play the lottery.”
Christina mused: “How freaking cool is that.”
Pippa added: “Such a lifetime experience – twice…what luck! He should definitely play the lottery!!!”
The global superstar recently said he would like to take his performances to Glastonbury, as he promised it would take festival goers “heads off”.
The star has performed at Worthy Farm just once across his over three-decades-long career, back in 1998 at the start of his solo career.
He told the Robbie Williams Rewind podcast in January that if he was to be asked back he would “slaughter it”.
“It’s one of those times and places, and a re-imagination of what Robbie Williams is,” he commented.
Robbie said: “When you do Glastonbury, perception changes more than any other festival. Diana Ross could play any festival and not get any traction, but she plays Glastonbury and everybody is talking about it, like Barry Gibb.
“A lot of people there have an oblique perception of what I am. But if they saw me do it, I would take their heads off.”
Robbie was a member of boyband Take That alongside Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange, from 1990 until 1995, when he quit the group.
He soon launched a solo career and reached worldwide fame.
