Rylan Clark reveals new Spice Girls tattoo as he grimaces in pain during inking

Rylan Clark was shown wincing in pain as he received a new Spice Girls tattoo in footage uploaded to Instagram on Thursday.

The 33 year old was filmed by his make-up artist and friend Bernice Cole as he got the new ink on his ankle, as the pair visited Electric Snake Tattoo parlour in Billericay, Essex.

As he attempted to go through the inking process without flinching, Rylan was seen grimacing in his seat as he tried to bear the pain.

"Took it like a champ," his friend Bernice captioned the post.

To lighten the atmosphere and get Rylan in the mood for his Spice Girls tattoo, the group's song Spice Up Your Life was playing in the background.

The TV presenter switched positions later on in the clip and was seen lying on his back as he clenched his jaw while his ankle was being tattooed.

Rylan’s latest body art features the phrase ‘girl power’ in a delicate cursive style.

The media personality previously confirmed that he had a new tattoo on BBC Radio 2 as he said: “This week I had a tattoo done.

"I have had a tattoo on my leg – 'girl power'. It’s real. It’s for the Spice Girls."

Rylan’s friend Bernice revealed on her Instagram page that she had also got the same tattoo, displaying the matching ink with Rylan as they posed in the mirror of the tattoo parlour once both designs were completed.

"Love them! Thank you so much for our cute matching tattoos,” Bernice captioned the post.

Rylan’s latest ink comes months after his break up from husband Dan Neal, whom he married in 2015.

He took a step back from presenting following the separation, leaving fans concerned for his wellbeing at the time.

Rylan addressed his mental state as he spoke to The Guardian in January, as he confessed that he “didn’t think he could continue” after his relationship fell apart.

“I didn’t think I’d be here. I didn’t think I could continue. I didn’t think I’d actually come back. I was very… gone. I was having thoughts and doing things that made me… f**ked up, for want of a better word,” Rylan said.

“I didn’t understand why I was doing that to myself. So, I went away for a bit.

" I just never thought I could get that ill. Strange situations do very strange things to people. If it wasn’t for my mum, and my family and close friends I genuinely have no idea if I’d be here."
