S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara has shared an update after she was hospitalised for back surgery after suffering ‘unbearable’ pain.
The singer, 43, posted a photo in her hospital gown, sharing an update with fans and revealing that she would have to cancel an appearance at Fife Pride as she focuses on her health.
Jo wrote: ‘UPDATE ‼️ : I am so devastated and sorry to have announce , that I will not be able to attend @fifepride on Saturday !
‘As you may well know I have had some health issues with my back recently
And it has resulted in me needing Surgery to remove the disc And fix the problem, the pain has been unbearable, and I have been advised surgery is now my only option.
‘And been told this is something that’s needs doing urgently to prevent further damage to my back ! so I will be going in for the procedure Tomorrow!
‘I am beyond upset to be missing out on such a special day , and I am so so sorry ? I hope you all understand that this decision was very hard ? but I must put my health first at this time !!

East 17’s Terry Coldwell added: ‘I wish you a speedy recovery Jo and a safe operation ❤️?.’
Jo recently shared that her back pain had flared up again, sharing a photo of herself in a hospital bed.
‘So after almost 20 years pain free my back decided it was time to flake out on me again,’ she penned.
‘The pain has been absolutely horrendous! 4 discs bulging, and a bad case of sciatica, I yesterday went for spinal blockers at the amazing @thelondonclinichospital to try and get things moving again!
‘It will not stop me doing my shows, and I will not be beaten by it!’
Meanwhile, the Don’t Stop Movin’ hitmaker recently spoke about the possibility of an S Club 7 reunion and admitted ‘if it ever was to happen, I’d definitely be up for doing it.’
‘I’m ready to reach for the stars!’ she joked to Lorraine Kelly.
However, reigning in fans’ expectations again, she warned: ‘It’s a case of getting seven bodies all together in the same room.
‘We’re all so busy and it’s pretty full on when it’s S Club 7.’
The band – made up of Tina Barrett, 44, Rachel Stevens, 43, Hannah Spearritt, 40, Bradley McIntosh, 40, Paul Cattermole, 44, Jon Lee, 39, and Jo – sold more than 10 million albums worldwide in the five years they were together.
