The Wanted singer Tom Parker has opened up on how he plans to live life and “crack on” with his career aspirations after receiving good news about his brain tumour.
The 33 year old musician was set to join the highly-anticipated reunion with the band, but his diagnosis over a year ago put a huge spanner in the works.
At the time, the star was told he had an inoperable grade four glioblastoma multiforme by doctors, meaning he would likely be forced to pull out.
But thankfully Tom learned earlier this year that the tumour had become stable.
Following his most recent MRI scan, the singer revealed all in a pre-recorded segment on Good Morning Britain.
In the programme, which is set to air on Christmas Day, Tom admits: “I’m just cracking on to be honest.
“It's unusual to get into this position a year down the way.
“But I'm just happy to be back with the boys and happy to be out of the house and away from the kids to be honest with you!” the star laughs.
“They're at that age now where they're hurting Daddy's ears!”
Speaking about what it was like to rejoin the group after a seven year break, Tom’s fellow bandmate Max George reveals it was easy.
“Things clicked into place straight away, I know that,” he explains. “I think we were quite apprehensive, all of us.
“Then we met up to do a photoshoot and then as soon as we met it was like, 'Okay, things haven't changed at all.'"
Siva Kaneswaran also mentions how the lockdowns and reality of the pandemic brought things into stark reality for the group.
“I think 2020 did bring reality to all of us too,” he says. “How we missed each other and not to sweat the small stuff.”
“Especially Tom's situation. We're a band of brothers, we've got to get this thing going again,” Max adds.
