The Weeknd Provides Update After Losing Voice During L.A. Concert

The Weeknd, who was forced to cancel his concert in Los Angeles halfway through last weekend after losing his voice, says his voice is recovering.

“Doctor says my voice is safe and with rest I’ll be solid and able to bring the show my Toronto fans are waiting for,” he captioned a photo of him performing on stage on Twitter. “LA date is being worked out soon.”

“Thank you SO much for all the love and understanding that’s come my way. I love you all so much,” the hip-hop superstar added.

After singing three songs at So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, The Weeknd told the sold out stadium crowd that he lost his voice and he had no other option than stopping the show.

He apologized to his fans and promised to “make it up with a new date.”

The Weeknd is expected to wrap up his After Hours Til Dawn Tour, featuring Kaytranada and Mike Dean, later this month along with a September 22 makeup date in his hometown of Toronto, the online hip hop music magazine HipHopDX reported.
