Weezer Share Cover Of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’

American rock band Weezer recently shared a cover of the classic Metallica song “Enter Sandman.”

Taken from the forthcoming The Metallica Blacklist collection, the song is part of a 53-track set of Metallica covers honoring their 1991 effort, “The Black Album,” recorded by a host of artists, including Phoebe Bridgers, St. Vincent, Cage the Elephant, Miley Cyrus, and more.

Weezer have also released a music video to accompany the cover, featuring a series of increasingly ominous images, including shots of flickering lights along an empty hallway, zombified hands rising out of the Earth, hollowed-out eyes, and spinning rings of fire.

Slated to be released on September 10, proceeds from the album will directly benefit Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation and more than 50 charities chosen by the artists who appear on the record, with the charity of Weezer’s choosing being the California Vipassana Center.

In addition to the cover compilation, Metallica will also be releasing a reissue of “The Black Album” on the same day.
