The Mullet

Sexy Hair Cuts For Spring

If you haven’t noticed it by now, the mullet has made its way back, appearing at events and red carpets on the likes of celebs, such as Miley Cyrus. “The 2021 recreations of the mullet are softer and elegant with a slight edge to [create] an effortless look [that is] suitable for all hair textures,” says Bergamy.

What to ask for: Business in the front, party in the back, duh! But in all seriousness, tell your stylist that the you’d like the crown area to be cut short with layers and leave the back long, says Bergamy. Decide the length you’d like and bringing a picture never hurts.

A Big Chop — TWA Style

Sexy Hair Cuts For Spring

“If you are a textured hair babe, spring is definitely the time for new beginnings and if you are transitioning from a relaxer to natural and you feel a little daring, it’s the perfect time to do a big chop TWA [teeny weenie afro] style,” says Bergamy.

What to ask for: Bergamy suggests telling your stylist you’re in the transitional stage between relaxer and natural, where you only have an inch to an inch-and-a-half of natural hair length. Then have them remove all relaxed end and shape your new growth into a TWA.

Curtain Bangs

61st Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

“Bangs are making their mark again, from the curtain bangs to curly bangs, and they can transform any hairstyle [into] a fun, classic, and flirty one,” says Bergamy.

What to Ask For: Use this bangs style as your in-between look while growing out your fringe, or as a way to ease into styling bangs if you’re chopping them for the first time. Ask your pro for long fringe with enough weight so that they can be parted in the center — like Camila Cabello — or swept to the side.
