I taste tested pigs in blankets from SIX supermarkets to find the ultimate winner – there's two chains you need to avoid | The Sun

FROM succulent turkey to honey roasted carrots, it won't be long until we're all tucking into a mouthwatering festive feast.

But let's face it, no Christmas dinner would be complete without pigs in blankets.

With so many options available on the market, it can be hard to know which ones are really worth your money..but luckily, a food fan named Laura Nightingale is on hand to share her verdict.

In a clip posted to TikTok (@cakeontherun), she explained how she bought pigs in blankets from six different supermarkets, before doing a blind taste test to find the ultimate winner.

She begins by noting that the festive food favourite set her back £4.50 from M&S.

However, after taking a bite, she's pleasantly surprised and observes: "Super juicy."

Next up, she samples the offering at Waitrose.

But at £5.25, she can't look past it's extortionate price and notes: "So expensive."

Moving onto the pigs in blankets from Sainsbury's, which are priced much cheaper at £2.25, she warns: "Burnt easily."

Not stopping there, she tried Aldi's £1.99 version.

But it's Tesco's £2.50 option that really impressed the food fan and resulted in her labelling them "the best."

And last but not least, she tucks into Lidl's £1.99 pigs in blankets.

"Good value," she notes.

Sharing the final results, Laura says: "Supermarket pigs in blankets taste test!

"I rated them from best to worst:

"6. LAST: Sainsbury’s

"7. Waitrose.

"8. Marks and Spencer.

"9. Aldi.

"10. Lidl.

"11. WINNER: Tesco."

It comes after Fabulous told how another foodie tested mince pies from 10 supermarkets to find the best of the bunch – and surprisingly, only one premium made it into the top three.

In the clip posted to TikTok (@harrisonwebb97), he starts by asking: "Have you ever bought 130 mince pies from 10 different supermarkets…the standard version and the premium version because you want to know which one's the best?

"No? Well, I did, because I'm going to be blind tasting them."
