THERE'S nothing quite as annoying as discovering your favourite item of clothing has an oil stain on it.

But what's even worse is not noticing the pesky mark straight away, leaving you to endless scrub away at the soaked-in stain.


But it turns out old oil stains don't have to mark to end of your favourite outfit.

One cleaning whizz has shared the quick and easy way to lift those annoying oils stains.

Sharing his cheap and cheerful method on Instagram, Jeeves (@jeeves_ny) explained that all you need is a "tiny amount of dish soap."

Squirt a small dot of the soap directly onto the mark and rub in with your finger.

After that, you can mix warm water with dish soap, splash about a tablespoon of it on to the stains and rub in with the back of the spoon.

"The water is an important addition so the oil stain has something to transfer onto," he explained.

And if you've got an especailly stubborn stain, don't worry.

You can put a tiny amount of laundry detergent directly onto the stain as well to help lift it.

Just rub it in with the soap and warm water before washing as normal.

For very old stains you might want to do all three steps, but if you've caught the mark straight away you can probably get away with just the first two.

Fellow keen cleaners loved the quick and easy method and couldn't wait to try it on their own clothes.
