IT'S no secret that house renovations can cost a small fortune.
But one savvy woman, from the US, has taken to TikTok to prove that not everything has to come with a hefty price tag.
In a short video, Jess explained how she hated her guest bathroom floors but re-tiling wasn't in the budget, so she painted them instead.
Sharing her top tips with her social media followers, the DIY fan began: "I started off by giving everything a good vacuuming.

"I then used TSP which is a heavy-duty cleaner to scrub down my floors."
Jess went on to say how she then used a tile sanding block to scuff up the surface of her tiles, before coating the floor with primer.

For anyone hoping to follow in her creative footsteps, Jess added: "If you're going to be painting your own floors, I highly recommend that you wear socks because your toenails will scratch the paint – I know this from experience.
"I also recommend keeping a vacuum cleaner nearby and cleaning off every time you go in and out of the room."
She then explained how she gave the floor its first coat of paint, before letting it dry and adding a second.
In a second clip, she added that she used a tiny paintbrush to fill in the grout lines.
"I then finished it off with not one but two coats of triple thick polyurethane to keep my floors looking good for years to come,” she continued.
And it's no surprise the comments section was inundated with messages from impressed DIY fans.
"Good job. Looks fabulous. Love it," enthused one.
