GIVING birth at 16, mum Kerry Louise Skelding knew just what to call her new daughter – Toni Louise.
“My mum suggested Toni and I decided on the middle name Louise because it was the same as mine,” the full-time carer to her children said.
“Some people might have thought that was was strange, but I didn't – I wanted her to have a connection with me.
But what Kerry, 37, didn't realise is she was starting a family tradition which she'd carry on for years (and many more kids) to come.
“I was a teen mum when I had Toni. I had been kicked out of school for being naughty – bunking off and the like – and I wanted to focus on my daughter who I’d had with a local lad.”
But after moving into a council flat in Telford, Shropshire, where she still lives, Kerry soon put school angst behind her got to grips with ‘mum life’.

“I had a lot of help,” she explained. “My mates loved that I had a little baby and would always come round to see us and mum was there to lend a hand.”
Then, when Toni was five, Kerry fell pregnant again.
“I was in a relationship with a guy having met at a speed dating event,” she said.

"It was another girl and she arrived prematurely, but while she was in hospital I was reading an article about Madison Avenue in New York.
“I thought ‘that’s a really nice name,’ so decided to call my daughter Maddison but spelt it with two Ds.
“I went for the middle name Louise again – but this time she was named after her big sister, not me. They had different dads, but we all had the Louise family name so it connected them.
“Some people questioned it but with a different first name it seemed fine and most importantly her dad and I really liked it.”
I don’t think I’ve been judged for having six kids with five dads and even if I was I wouldn’t care
A year later, Kerry fell pregnant again with the same man. But this time it was a boy.
“I just liked the name Ryan,” she said. “I thought about his middle name and was Googling names when I came across James. I didn’t want anything boring like David and thought Ryan James flowed well. I decided on a hyphen so it’s Ryan-James, although we all call him R-J.”
Sadly her relationship with Maddison Louise and now-14-year-old Ryan-James’ dad broke down.
A friend came to comfort her and a “drunken fumble” one night led to her conceiving.
“I was shocked,” she said. “I was on the coil which is more than 99 percent effective so I did not expect to get pregnant but then I did.
“But there was no way I was giving up my baby. And his dad – I don’t call him an ex as we weren’t ever a couple, it was one night – is a really good father.”
It emerged the coil had come out but Kerry hadn’t realised and Connor James arrived prematurely but safely.
“I thought James was a good middle name as it was his brother’s one – like the girls have Louise – it tied them together,” Kerry explained.
It’s nice they all have the same name – it really ties them together and I don’t think it’s bonkers at all
Next, with a different man, arrived Morgan Leigh – the only child with a different name.
“She came quickly and unexpectedly…in my mum’s car,” said Kerry. “When she was little she mentioned her name not having Louise in it but she’s fine.
“I just thought giving all my kids the same name was a bit much.
“And I love Leigh. It goes well with Morgan and isn’t too masculine.”
Six years ago, Kerry had her youngest son.
“I was a bit of a cougar when it came to my final son’s dad,” she said. “I was 31, he was 20.
"He’s from Hertfordshire and so he reminded me of a cheeky Cockney. There was definite chemistry but sadly we didn’t work out.”
And Lucas-James – named after his two big brothers – is now the third of her sons to be called James.
“I don’t think I’ve been judged for having six kids with five dads and even if I was I wouldn’t care.
“You can’t help who you fall for.
“Still, it’s nice they all have the same name – it really ties them together and I don’t think it’s bonkers at all.”
