My simple Thanksgiving upgrades make boxed stuffing taste like homemade – don't forget the turkey drippings | The Sun

A FOODIE has revealed a must-try trick for making boxed food taste as if it’s been cooked from scratch this Thanksgiving.

She used a pan to fry a selection of ingredients that would be used to enhance the flavor of her boxed stuffing.

Nai Gonzales (@dianidago), who lives in Texas, often posts a glimpse into her life as a teacher on TikTok.

She took to the social media platform to share a food hack that makes boxed stuffing taste homemade.

Her recipe called for two boxes of cornbread stuffing mix that's ready to eat in just 10 minutes.

The home chef revealed she fries a selection of vegetables and bacon separately and then adds it to the stuffing to serve.

She began by listing her step-by-step process.

“Crack pecans, caramelize half an onion, add two stalks celery or more to liking," she said.

“Add three strips of bacon or more to your liking. When bacon is almost done, add a cup of pecans.”

Nai combined all of the nutritional ingredients in her frying pan before preparing the stuffing separately as directed on the box.

“Need three cups of water for two boxes, make one of them turkey drippings,” the text over the video read.

She mixed everything together to finish the process, which resulted in a meaty and traditional-looking stuffing.

The video went viral with over 18,000 views and hundreds of likes from people who were grateful for the tip.

“Making this for Thanksgiving!! Thank you,” one person commented.

“Going to try, thanks,” a second wrote.

The cooking hack comes after another foodie shared advice for how to make the most of leftover stuffing during the holidays.

Alexa Santos (@alexasantos) recommended turning stuffing into mouthwatering waffles that can be topped with mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, and cranberry sauce.

She said just fill an iron waffle maker with the stuffing then cook until fried crispy and golden.

“Stuffing waffles are about to be your new favorite way to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers this holiday season,” Alexa raved.
